The prophet Elijah arose like a fire, and his word burned like a torch.
- Sirach 48: 1

The Carmelites of Mary Ever Virgin gather each day for the prayer par excellence, Holy Mass. In the seven hours of the Divine Office, which are celebrated throughout the day and night, elements of the Carmelite Rite are followed. The major hours are sung in Latin, in Gregorian chant, while the other hours are chanted in English.

On Fridays the Sisters spend an hour in Eucharistic Adoration.

Lectio divina, solitary prayer, the rosary, and study are a part of each Sister's day. The silence of Carmel enables her to ponder day and night the Word of God that she has heard in the Liturgy and in Lectio divina.
